GVSU LGBT Resource Center Mural

Client: Grand Valley State University • Allendale, MI • 2025

The directors of the Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center invited me to create a mural design to activate the back wall of their space. My goal was to capture the vibrant essence of the LGBT+ community and promote feelings of JOY, LOVE and FREEDOM. GVSU students and faculty submitted images for me to reference. I created characters inspired by their likenesses, woven together with bright colors and playful florals. I also included the Center’s founder, Milton E. Ford, in yellow near the GVSU clock tower. The students and faculty helped select and refine the design, which was installed using a vinyl decal.
